RATES & PACKAGES

For your horseback riding holidays we invite you to join us for a time in the saddle as a guest wrangler. An interest in horses, riding, western ranch life or the thrill of the great outdoors is paramount in obtaining the utmost enjoyment during your vacation in the beautiful vistas and rolling ridges that adorn southwestern Alberta's countryside.

The following packages will vary according to capabilities and is left up to the discretion of Sierra West. This can be discussed during our pre-booking calls or e-mails. Sierra West reserves the right to cancel any ranch activity that is deemed unsafe due to poor weather conditions.

It is highly recommended that guests bring and wear their own riding helmets, however we do have a few on hand which are self-adjusting & you are more than welcome to use if you wish.

Riding
$50.00 - 1 hour (advance booking required)
$40.00/hour/horse - 2 hours or more (advanced booking required)

Bringing your own horse to ride-
A minimum of 2 guides are required for any ride with over 1 guest.
Guide Fee -
1 rider w/own horse - $40.00/hour
2 riders w/own horse - $40.00/hour/horse
3 riders w/own horse - $30.00/hour/horse
4 riders or more w/own horse - $25.00/hour/horse

Instructional Riding
Instructional Riding - $60.00 for an hour.

Cattle Work
$55.00/hour/horse (advanced booking required)

Bringing your own horse to work cattle -
A minimum of 2 guides are required for any cattle work with over 1 guest.
Guide Fee -
1 rider w/own horse - $40.00/hour + $15.00 for cattle
2 riders w/own horse - $40.00/hour/horse + $15.00/rider for cattle
3 riders w/own horse - $30.00/hour/horse + $15.00/rider for cattle
4 riders w/own horse - $25.00/hour/horse + $15.00/rider for cattle

Rules & Regulations for our Riding and Cattle Work
- you will be charged the hourly rate whether you are riding the full hour or not
- weight restrictions vary according to length of ride
- weight restrictions apply - 265 lbs maximum
- cattle work will be finished for the season by the middle of September
- trail riding will be finished for the season by the end of September

Horse Lodging
$8.00/horse/night (Guests must bring their own weed free hay or cubes).

Camping
$30.00/unit/night

High Country Day Ride
Come ride the High Country with us and enjoy the smell of wild flowers and unending scenery. We will guide you on a wonderful 4 1/2 - 5 hours horseback ride which will include a tasty lunch at our half way destination point.

Frontier Cattle Drive

"The Best Little Cattle Drive in the West". Saddle up and ride with the Sierra West wranglers on our 2014 Cattle Drive. This year our trip will take you through some of the most scenic mountain countryside nestled close to the base of the majestic Livingstone Mountain range in southwestern Alberta. Step back into the pages of time and experience a taste of the "Old West" as we ride the open ranges, drive cattle, indulge in down home country cooking and tell yarns & sing songs around the campfire.

Cowboy Chuckwagon Cookout
On route from Calgary to Waterton Lakes National Park, take the scenic Cowboy Trail (Hwy #22) and stop at Sierra West where we're cooking up something special! Our working cattle ranch has recreated a one-street frontier town and will treat your group to a real cowboy feast in our Longhorn Saloon. Dine on delicious BBQ beef, baked beans, baked potato and salad topped off with a scrumptious apple crisp for dessert! Come try your hand at horseshoes, learn to use a lasso, and don a cowboy hat for a photo with a real cowboy. Enjoy a taste of Alberta Cowboy Heritage & and the real Old West!

Other Information
-All fees are in Canadian funds and subject to 5% GST.
-No smoking in Cabins/Bunkhouses.
-No pets allowed - even with campers.
-50% deposit due upon booking - remainder upon arrival.
-We accept cash, visa, master card, debit and e-transfers.

Single Accommodation Cancellation
- If notice of cancellation is received 46 + days prior to your scheduled arrival - your deposit less a   $150.00 Administration fee will be refunded.
- If notice of cancellation is received 45 days or less prior to your scheduled arrival - deposit
  not refunded.
- We encourage guests to purchase their own trip cancellation insurance.
- Guests are responsible for personal health and accident insurance.
